Having a short introduction to Python is essential for anyone to start learning the programming language python. Python is one of the most popular programming languages in 2020 which was created by Guido van Rossum, and released in 1991.

Use of Python

Python can be used for verity of purposes such as web development particularly server side, software development, mathematics related project and system scripting.

Python works on different platforms such as Windows, Mac, Linux, Raspberry Pi or etc as it’s platform independent. In addition to that the syntaxes in python are similar to English language which makes easy to learn the language quickly. Python has syntax that allows developers to write programs with fewer lines than some other programming languages. Python runs on an interpreter system, meaning that code can be executed as soon as it is written. This means that prototyping can be very quick. Also Python can be treated in a procedural way, an object-orientated way or a functional way.

The most recent major version of Python is Python 3 (Python 3.8.2), which we shall be using in this tutorials across the site. However, Python 2, although not being updated with anything other than security updates, is still quite popular.

Programming in python can be written either in text editor or any integrated development Environment (IDE) such as Pycharm, netbeans, Thonny and etc.

One reason for the easy adoption of Python by many modern day programmers is that it was designed for readability, and has some similarities to the English language with influence from mathematics. For instance, Python uses new lines to complete a command, as opposed to other programming languages which often use semicolons or parentheses.

Python relies on indentation, using whitespace, to define scope; such as the scope of loops, functions and classes. Other programming languages often use curly-brackets for this purpose.

Use of Python in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning

Python having an extensive choice of libraries is one of the reasons for python is the preferred language for the implementation of Machine Learning and AI projects. To name few Scikit-learn, Pandas, Keras, TensorFlow and etc.
