#Step 1: Go to Python Website

The first step in installing python on your computer is to download it. So, visit to download and install python.

In Step 2, as shown in the above image, Hover over the Downloads menu item and select your preferred Operating System (OS) in which you are going to install python. In this example, we are going to install python on windows OS. Therefore, choose windows. Once you click Windows, you will be taken to the download page for the preferred OS.

In this step, we have to choose the python version and distribution that we are going to install. In this example, I am going to install Python 3.9.6 64-bit installer

So, please click the 64-bit version under Python 3.9.6 – June 28, 2021 release. Once you click it, the installer will be downloaded to your pc.

#Step 4: Installing Python 3 on your Computer

This step is the most important one out of all. Once you downloaded it, open the file. It will prompt the above screen. You can see there the version of the installation is shown as Python 3.9.6 (64-bit).

Note:– Please note that by default Add Python 3.9 to Path (No.3 in Image) checkbox would be unchecked.

So, if you install while the path setting is unchecked, you will have to set your path manually once you finish the installation. Hence, to avoid that extra work, first, make sure that you have ticked the Path (No.3) as shown in the image.

Once you do that, now we have 2 options (No.1 and No.2).

No.1:- Once you click, Install Now it will install to the default path as shown in the above image. If you want to change the installation location or customize the feature, you can choose No.2

No.2:- Option 2 allows you to customize the installation. If you want to see the customization features or want to change the installation location, click Customize Installation option. Then you will be prompted with the options to customize.

In this example, we do not need to customize anything. So, let us keep them as they are.

Once you click either Option 1 or 2, it will give a prompt to allow the installation. Once you allow it, python will be installed on your computer.

Now you want to check whether everything went well and python is installed correctly.

Regarding python installation, you can check whether python has been installed correctly in two ways.

#Method 1: Check Python Version

In method 1, we can check whether python has been installed and configured correctly just by trying to check the version of python. If everything is done correctly it should show the python version as shown in the image below

So, open up your Command Prompt as shown below

Once you open up the command prompt, type python –version and hit enter. It will show you the python version installed or available on your computer. I have installed python 3.8.1 which is shown in the previous image.

#Method 2: Accessing Python Prompt

One of the features of python is command prompt interactivity. You can execute python commands in CMD itself. So you can just type python in CMD. It will initiate the python prompt where you can write python codes. I have just typed print (“AIINSPIRED.COM”) and it has output the string as AIINSPIRED.COM.

If you want to exit the python prompt in CMD, type exit() and hit enter.
